Trideck Tunnel

The Trideck is a three-belt tunnel designed to achieve IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) product. As the product falls from one belt to another, it rotates and separates, allowing for perfectly even freezing of each individual piece. The compact design ensures a small footprint while maintaining maximum throughput. Additionally the side ventilation enhances freezing efficiency at the lower levels.

Compact size with maximum efficiency - high-volume IQF processing

Advanced three-belt design for superior separation

Achieving true Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) while managing energy costs is a major challenge for high-volume processors. The Dohmeyer Trideck Tunnel eliminates this compromise with a highly compact, vertically stacked three-belt design. As products - such as small meat cuts, fish portions, or pizza toppings - drop from one belt to the next, they naturally rotate and separate, instantly breaking any forming ice bonds. This vertical stacking delivers higher product capacity within the same footprint as a standard tunnel. Furthermore, the system features a bottom exhaust that actively draws cold gas through the freezing zone. This highly efficient gas flow management increases freezing speed even by more than 20% and lowers overall cryogen consumption, reducing the average cost per kilogram. With these combined efficiencies, processors can achieve a rapid return on investment - often within four years.

The even distribution of temperature inside the tunnel

directly contributes to the repeatability and precision of the entire process

We eliminate variations, ensuring that the entire batch of product is subjected to identical thermal conditions, thereby guaranteeing consistent results.

At the same time, the efficient use of gas means lower losses and reduced gas consumption, delivering measurable savings in day-to-day operation.

Secure cryogenic operations

Comprehensive redundancy and vacuum-insulated manifolds

Operator and process safety are critical priorities when dealing with ultra-low temperature cryogens on the factory floor. The Trideck Tunnel is rigorously engineered to protect your workforce and secure your daily operations. A key safety feature is the vacuum-insulated manifold, which prevents severe cold burn injuries. This manifold includes an integrated cryogen return safety valve within the pipeline that safely redirects and relieves pressure back to the storage tank rather than venting it into the production room. Additionally, Dohmeyer equips the tunnel with a redundant safety loop. This secondary system provides a full backup to the primary safety circuit, ensuring complete peace of mind and continuous, secure operations even in the rare event of a primary sensor failure.

Reducing wastage of cold energy

Close-controlled injection of the chosen cryogen matched with efficient gas flow management

At Dohmeyer we do understand that the long-term OPEX is often more important than CAPEX and our design philosophy reflects that heavily. As we are living in a VUCA world, we acknowledge that the equipment You are using must be highly efficient in terms of resource consumption. Hence our cryogen injection & flow management systems are solutions we adapted into the Dohmeyer Trideck Tunnels - to give you better control and to reduce potential wastes of cryogens.

Unrivaled sanitary engineering

No-seal architecture and integrated belt cleaning

Minimizing maintenance downtime and preventing bacterial growth are constant battles in the food processing industry. Dohmeyer addresses these challenges with a stringent hygiene-focused design philosophy. The Trideck Tunnel features a unique no-seal design that completely removes the need for traditional gaskets, eliminating hidden crevices where bacteriological contamination could accumulate. This proactive engineering helps your business avoid costly product recalls. Furthermore, the equipment includes an integral automatic belt cleaning system fitted within the freezing zone to drastically cut down the time required for sanitation between shifts. For facilities demanding the highest sanitary assurance, the tunnel can also be outfitted with an optional, easy-to-clean hygienic eye-link belt featuring an open structure that minimizes trapped product.

Our design is focused on maximizing the use of cryogen in order to deliver the best effect, while keeping the resource consumption at the lowest possible level.

Adapting for the future needs

Universal cryogen compatibility and smart diagnostics

To future-proof your production line, the Trideck Tunnel offers exceptional adaptability. It is available in multiple sizes to fit your specific facility and can operate using either liquid nitrogen (LN₂) or carbon dioxide(CO₂) depending on your regional supply. Operators benefit from a wide residence time range: the servo-driven gearbox provides a vast range of belt speeds so the dwell time within the freezing zone can be finely adjusted from 90 seconds to 1.5 hours, depending on the tunnel's length. The system is also powered by robust PLCs that allow operators to store and execute tested recipes for incredibly fast product changeovers. Crucially, the equipment supportsreal-time performance monitoring and automatic data logging. This provides management with immediate operational insights and seamless traceability for quality assurance audits.
